Minutes of the September 18, 2021 Meeting at Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA

President: President Dave Gilliard called the meeting to order. The meeting began at 8:43 a.m.

Invocation: Compatriot Ron Barker led the invocation.

SAR Pledge: Compatriot Mike Holmes led the SAR Pledge.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Compatriot Al Jones.

Introductions of Guests: The guest was Coreena Ross.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

There were no past meeting minutes to approve.

Program

President Dave Gilliard did a program about Revolutionary War Flags.

Chapter Reports

President’s Report: President Dave Gilliard spoke about the upcoming November CASSAR
meeting that is going to be held at the Mission Inn in Riverside, CA. The meeting dates are November 4ththrough the 7th, 2021.

He also spoke about the NSSAR Fall Leadership Meeting that is going to be held Louisville, Kentucky. The dates of the meeting are September 23rd through the 25th, 2021.
The CASSAR State Meeting will be held in Sacramento, CA and the tentative month will be April 2022.

1st Vice-President’s Report: 1st Vice-President Mike Holmes spoke about the upcoming Veteran’s Day Parade that will be held in Auburn, CA. The date of the Parade is November 11th, 2021. The parade will end at the Gold Country Fairgrounds.

He also spoke to the Auburn Elementary Superintendent of Schools regarding the Valley Forge Teacher’s Program.

2nd Vice President’s Report: There was no report given.

Treasurer’s Report: President Dave Gilliard gave the treasurer’s report at this meeting.

Secretary’s Report: There was no report given at this meeting.

Valley Forge Report:  1st. Vice-President Mike Holmes spoke to the Auburn Elementary Superintendent of Schools regarding the Valley Forge Teacher’s Program.

Eagle Scout Report: There was no report given at the meeting.

Membership Report: There was no report given.

J.R.O.T.C. Report: There was no report given at the meeting.

Colorguard Reports: There was no report given at the meeting.

Chaplain’s Report: There was no report was given at the meeting.

Registrar’s Report: Ron Barker gave the report this month.

Genealogist Report: Ron Barker gave the report this month.

Old Business

President Dave Gilliard spoke about the NSSAR America 250 Program and he also spoke about the new Revolutionary War Flag honoring the 250th Anniversary of the Revolutionary War.

New Business

Coreena Ross spoke about receiving ladies costumes from Jim Howson. He and his wife Mary Lou were actively involved in Revolutionary War Encampments in Connecticut.
