Minutes of the May 16, 2026 Meeting at Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA
President: President Dave Gilliard called the meeting to order. The meeting began at 8:36 a.m.
Invocation: Compatriot Dick Fowler led the invocation.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Compatriot Dale Ross.
SAR Pledge: Compatriot Tony Chakurian led the SAR Pledge.
Introductions of Guests: The guests were Conni Barker and Coreena Ross.
Approval of Meeting Minutes
There were no meeting minutes to approve.
America 250 Minute Report
President Dave Gilliard gave the America 250 Report and it was about April 15th, 1776.
Program
The program was The Declaration of Independence School Program. Conni Barker gave a presentation about Abigail Adams, and she said Remember the Ladies.
Officer and Program Chairman Reports
President’s Report: President Dave Gilliard spoke about the chapter poster contest. The Gold Country Chapter poster took second place at the California State Society Sons of the American Revolution Spring Meeting.
1st Vice-President’s Report: There was no report given at this meeting.
2nd Vice President’s Report: There was no report given at this meeting.
Treasurer’s Report: President Dave Gilliard gave the treasurer’s report at the meeting.
Secretary’s Report: There was no report given at this meeting.
Colorguard Report: Compatriot Dale Ross spoke about the upcoming 4th of July Parade and it’s going to be held in Auburn, CA. The chapter is going to participate in the parade.
Registrar’s Report: There was a new member who was approved and his name is Richard Clarke.
Old Business and New Business
America 250 Events for America
The Gold Country Chapter will participate in the 4th of July Parade that will be held in Auburn.
The Gold Country Chapter will participate in the Delaware Regiment Constitution Days Living History Encampment. The dates of the encampment are September 19th and 2oth, 2026. The chapter will also march with the Delaware Regiment in Sunday’s Constitution Day Parade.
