Minutes of the Feb 17, 2024 Meeting at Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA

President Ron Barker called the meeting to order. The meeting began at 8;47 a.m.

Invocation: Rod Beidler led the invocation.

Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Kendall MacGregor.

SAR Pledge: The SAR Pledge was led by Dave Gilliard.

Guests

Welcoming of Guests: The guests at the February meeting were Kendall MacGregor, Conni Barker, and Coreena Ross.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

Dave Gilliard made the motion to approve the January meeting minutes. Rod Beidler seconded the motion for the minutes to be approved. The January meeting minutes were approved.

America 250 Minute Report

Dave Gilliard did the February America 250 Minute Report. He spoke about his ancestor Benjamin Hall.

Officer and Program Chapter Reports

President’s Report: President Ron Barker also spoke about the upcoming Flag Ceremony that was going to happen on January 27th, 2024 for the Emigrant Trail Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The meeting is for the District ll Daughters of the American Revolution and it is going to be held at The Ridge Country Club in Auburn, California. The date of the ceremony is January 27th, 2024.

First Vice President’s Report:  There was no report given at the January meeting.

Second Vice President’s Report: There was no report given.

Treasurer’s Report: President Dave Gilliard gave the treasurer’s report.

Secretary’s Report: There was no report given.

Chaplain’s Report: There was no report given.

Valley Forge Report: There was no report given.

Color Guard Report: Dale Ross spoke about the upcoming flag ceremony that will be held for Emigrant Trail Chapter N.S.D.A.R. and the District ll meeting Daughters of the American Revolution. The ceremony is going to be at the Ridge Country Club in Auburn, California and the date of the ceremony will be January 27th, 2024.

There will be a flag presentation at the Navy League meeting in Auburn, CA. The date of the meeting is February 19th, 2024.

Old Business

Dale Ross spoke about the upcoming flag ceremony that will be held for Emigrant Trail Chapter N.S.D.A.R. and the District ll meeting Daughters of the American Revolution. Poster Contest: Dave Gilliard, Ron and Conni Barker had been doing presentations at various schools in the community for the Sons of the American Revolution Poster Contest.

New Business

There will be a flag presentation at the Navy League meeting in Auburn, CA. The date of the meeting is February 19th, 2024.

Rod Beidler spoke about attending the election training session for the Placer County Elections Office.

Poster Contest: Dave Gilliard said the March Meeting will be held at the Auburn City Hall in the Rose Room. The Gold Country Chapter will be judging the chapter posters from the different schools for the poster contest.

SAR Recessional: Dale Ross led the SAR Recessional.

Benediction: Rod Beidler did the benediction.

The next meeting will be held at the Auburn City Hall in the Rose Room on March 16th, 2024. The time of the meeting will be at 8:30 a.m.
