Minutes of the February 28, 2023 Meeting at Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA

President: President Dave Gilliard called the meeting to order. The meeting began at 8:36 a.m.

Invocation: Compatriot Ron Barker led the invocation.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Compatriot Jonathan Dickey

SAR Pledge: Compatriot Greg Hill led the SAR Pledge.

Introductions of Guests: The guests were Coreena Ross, Jimmy McCummings, Jonathan Dickey.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

The meeting minutes will be approved at the next meeting in March.

America 250 Minute Report

Dave Hulbert gave his report for the America 250 report.

Program

President Dave Gilliard gave his program and the program was Taverns in the American Revolution.

Jonathan Dickey spoke about the upcoming Nevada State Sons of the American Revolution meeting. The meeting will be held on April 1st, 2023.

President’s Report: President Dave Gilliard spoke about the upcoming Patriot’s Day Celebration that will be held in Auburn. The date will be April 19th, 2023.

President Dave Gilliard spoke about Washington’s Birthday that would be observed the following Monday.

President Dave Gilliard spoke about the poster judging contest and talked about Jamie Moffatt who is a teacher.

New Business

President Dave Gilliard spoke about the Patriot’s Day Celebration that will be held in Auburn. The date of the celebration is April 19th, 2023.

President Dave Gilliard spoke about the Revolutionary War Encampment and the Constitution Day Parade and it will be held in September in Nevada City, CA.

President Dave Gilliard spoke about the America 250 Award that is being presented by the National Society Sons of the American Revolution,
