Minutes of the December 13, 2014 Christmas Meeting at the Rose Room in Auburn, CA.

President Dale Ross presided over the meeting and called it to order at 12:45PM. Secretary Greg Hill was taking minutes.

Opening: Registrar Ron Barker gave the invocation, President Dale Ross led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Compatriot Keith Bigbee led the SAR Pledge.

Attendance: There were 8 guests and 8 members in attendance.

Minutes Approval: President Ross asked for a motion to approve the minutes. Treasurer Dave Gilliard made the motion and it was unanimously agreed to.

Business:
President Ross presented the following awards, assisted by Secretary Hill: Compatriot Bill Graber was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for his service as 2nd Vice President. Compatriot Craig Hopkins was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for his service as Chancellor. Compatriot Mike Holmes was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman medal for his numerous years of active service as First Vice President. Compatriot Ron Barker was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his numerous years of active service as Registrar, Genealogist, and Chapter President. Barry Hopkins was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his numerous years of active service as Historian and Chaplain. Compatriot Dave Gilliard was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his numerous years of active service as Post Contest Chairman, Chapter President and Treasurer. Compatriot Greg Hill was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his numerous years of active service as the Webmaster and Chapter Secretary. Compatriot Keith Bigbee was awarded the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his numerous years of active service as Secretary and several terms as Chapter President. Compatriot Mike Holmes was also awarded the Bronze Good Citizenship medal for his many years of active service in the local community including but not limited to his service as Mayor and on the Auburn City Council.

Compatriot Holmes received his awards before the beginning of the meeting due to a scheduling conflict. Compatriots Graber, Hopkins, and Hopkins were not present and will be mailed or presented their certificates and awards at a future meeting. Compatriots Gilliard, Hill and Bigbee’s medals were not available at the time of presentation and will be presented at a future meeting.

Outgoing President Dale Ross gave a thank you speech to the chapter.

CASSAR Vice President North Ron Barker restated the names of the officers elected at the previous meeting. He then swore in to office Treasurer Dave Gilliard, 2nd Vice President Ernie McPherson and Recording Secretary Dale Ross. Compatriot Barker then swore in President Greg Hill.

President Hill as his first act, presented Past President Dale Ross with the Bronze Roger Sherman medal for his many years of active service as Chapter Color Guard Commander and President.

President Hill announced the time and place of the January Meeting as being the Sierra Smokehouse and Grill on the third Saturday of January. He announced the need for a discussion on continuing the search for a more permanent meeting place. The Speaker for the January Meeting will be our own Compatriot Mike Holmes.

Closing:
Compatriot Gilliard led the SAR Recessional and Compatriot Barker gave the benediction. President Hill adjourned the meeting at 1:10PM.
