Nevada City, CA — September 20-21 2025
Members of the Gold Country Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, were proud to take part in Nevada City’s annual Constitution Day Weekend, joining forces with the Haslet’s Delaware Regiment for the Revolutionary War Days living-history event at Pioneer Park.
Chapter members, spouses, and Color Guard volunteers appeared in full colonial attire for the weekend, helping bring the spirit of the American Revolution to life for visitors. The Chapter staffed an outreach booth near the Delaware Regiment’s encampment, offering recruitment information, educational displays, and fun activities for kids to learn about patriot life and the principles behind the U.S. Constitution.
The Constitution Day celebration, first held in 1967, is the oldest and largest Constitution observance in the western United States. Each year, thousands gather for a full weekend of festivities including the famous Constitution Day Parade, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek, and historical reenactments.
This year’s theme, “Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride,” marked the 250th anniversary of Revere’s historic warning. The Gold Country Chapter proudly marched alongside reenactors, community groups, and civic organizations through the heart of historic Nevada City—celebrating both Constitution Day and Constitution Week, which together remind Americans of the enduring values established in 1787.
