SAR National Poster Contest Chairman Dave Gilliard and SAR Gold Country Chapter President Greg Hill with the winning poster at the 2016 Youth Awards Luncheon for the SAR California State Society.

Gold Country Chapter was proud to bring the  first place poster at the 2016 SAR California State Society Convention. Posters from across the state were judged by those attending the event in Sacramento this April.

The poster was made by a fifth grade student participating in our poster program right here in Placer County. They, along with many other students, will receive awards in presentations at their schools in the weeks to come.

This winning poster will continue on to the SAR National Congress in Boston this summer to compete against posters from across the country.

Our poster program is one of many educational outreach programs and includes cash awards for the students who excel. Your generous donations help us continue to expand this wonderful resource for reaching the youth in our community.
