Minutes of the May 20, 2017 Meeting at Original Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA
President Greg Hill called the meeting to order at 9:10 A.M.
Invocation: Compatriot Gordon Clark led the invocation.
SAR Pledge: The SAR Pledge was led by Compatriot Guzy.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Compatriot Dale Ross.
Introductions of Guests: The guests for the June meeting were Conni Barker, Coreena Ross, Jeannette Clark, Elise Chakurian, Susan Brooking, Mike Hurst.
Approval of Minutes: Mike Holmes made the motion to approve the minutes as published on the chapter website. Dave Gilliard seconded the motion. The motion was approved.
Chapter Program
The guest speaker for the June meeting was RADM Bonnie Potter, M.D., US Navy (Ret.) President Greg Hill presented RADM Bonnie Potter, M.D., US Navy (Ret.) with a certificate of appreciation for her presentation.
Chapter Reports
President’s Report: President Greg Hill gave his report.
1st Vice President’s Report: There was no report given.
2nd Vice President’s Report: There was no report given.
Treasurer’s Report: Dave Gilliard gave the Treasure’s Report at the chapter meeting.
Secretary’s Report: There was no report given.
Eagle Scout Report: There was no report given.
Valley Forge: Mike Holmes said that he had spoken to several teachers about the Valley Forge Project.
J.R.O.T.C. Program: There was no report given.
Historian Report: There was no report given.
Registrar’s Report: Tony Chakurian said that Mike Hurst was accepted into the NSDAR.
Membership Report: Mike Hurst was sworn into the chapter as a new member.
Colorguard Reports: Ron Barker said the chapter will be participating in a booth in Auburn, CA on September 8th, 2017 to help promote the Wreaths Across America Program. The time of the event is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The chapter has purchased a new uniform for Tony Chakurian to help participate in the Colorguard events and parades.
Chaplain’s Report: No report was given.
Newsletter Editor: No report was given.
Old Business
The chapter is also going to participate in doing a Flag Presentation on June 17th, 2017 to the Auburn Oaks Retirement Community.
There is not going to be a July meeting because of the 4th of July Parade.
The chapter is going to participate in the 4th of July Parade that is going to be held in Grass Valley, CA this year. There will be a picnic after the parade at Dale and Coreena Ross’s house.
New Business
Dave Gilliard said on this date the Battle of Breed’s Hill was fought by the Revolutionary ancestors.
Ron Barker said there were going to be three people going to the National Congress this year. The National Congress will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Ron Barker said that he and Conni visited the SAR Annual History Conference and the subject was the Adams Family.

Greg Hill called for the meeting to be adjourned. Mike Holmes made the motion for the meeting to be adjourned. Dave Gilliard seconded the motion. Motion carried.
